Changemaker Challenge Faculty Starter Kit 2020
The Changemaker Challenge is the University of San Diego's Changemaker Hub's annual idea competition that invites students to employ their imagination, grit and passion for generating ideas to address a current social challenge or need proposed by leaders from the San Diego region.
Each year, the Changemaker Challenge selects a topic to address for the theme of the year's challenge. The theme of the 2020 Changemaker Challenge is addressing homelessness in San Diego.
This year, the Changemaker Hub is partnering with three, diverse, local organizations working to address homelessness directly in the San Diego region. The Changemaker Hub will create and make available "Community Partner Briefs" to help succinctly describe specific challenges faced by community partners that your students may help to address. Faculty can use these documents, as well as this kit in their classroom to prepare students for their final submissions to the Changemaker Challenge.
Even for those who are not teaching a course on homelessness-related issues or topics, this guide, and The Changemaker Hub provide necessary materials and experiences for students to meaningfully participate in this year's Changemaker Challenge.
